Hi Fellow Mamas...
I’m Christi, a self proclaimed introvert, Jesus follower, and coffee addict, I mean enthusiast. I’m also a proud mother of three amazing kids that never fail to amaze or exhaust me. I’ve been married to my best friend for sixteen years, so I obviously have men all figured out (sense the sarcasm).
Being a mom is one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done, but it’s not without it’s challenges. I find that surviving motherhood takes more than a village, and I need more than just caffeine to survive it. Coffee, prayer, and a whole lot of humor somehow keep me afloat day to day, as I pretend like I know what I’m doing.
In 2018, two of our children were diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (a degenerative muscle disease) sending us into a whirlwind of doctors appointments, mobility equipment and endless research. Our lives are now completely different and at times extremely difficult, but never without joy.
I also write for the Duchennexchange and I’m the author of the book “Living on Coffee and Prayer” Finding God’s Peace in the Chaos of Motherhood.
I started this blog in 2017 after writing freelance for an online magazine. I enjoy writing about real life, faith, Duchenne and all things parenting. I prefer to tell it like it is. I don’t sugarcoat. I hope to inspire, entertain, and comfort mothers, wives and women out there who, like me, are figuring out life as they go. Feel free to pull up a chair, (dust the cheerios off first) and sip on a latte, while you read about my deep struggles, successes, and everything in between.
There are no perfect mothers allowed here. If you’re ready to laugh, cry, and revel in the magical chaos that comes with motherhood then please stick around. Welcome to the club.
